A stunning color palette and gorgeous design made this Kalispell wedding a showstopper. Photography by Elsa Eileen Photography and planning by Huckleberry Wedding & Event Planning.
"Kyle and I met through my first cousin/his best friend, Tanner in 2012 in Missoula. We both grew up in North Dakota and both moved to Montana the same week and instantly became friends. Our bond grew over the years as I eventually relocated back to North Dakota and Kyle made his way to California, but we always kept in touch and made time to hang out and catch up when we were in the same place. We would always joke about how we should just get married because we knew how good we would be together. In 2017, while Kyle was visiting family in Bismarck, we attended a birthday celebration for a mutual friend and at the end of the night he ended up "proposing" (not actually proposing) to me in front of the entire party. We have been together ever since. The first two years of our relationship were long-distance and Kyle eventually relocated to Bismarck in 2019. We have two English bulldogs (Wilma and Reno) who are the light of our lives. We are both very passionate about our careers, spending time with friends and family, traveling, and anything outdoors.
Kyle proposed (for real) in our home with our sweet Wilma by his side over homemade ice cream. I am a huge ice cream fanatic.
We both love Western Montana and have many friends in the area who have never made it to North Dakota and vice versa. Our main goal was to get both our Montana and North Dakota families under one roof and provide an unforgettable weekend for all guests who attended. We wanted our ceremony to be very intimate and the reception to be one giant party. We had the great privilege of having Kyle's brother, Erik (who traveled from London) marry us; as well as having my childhood best friend, Kaitlin (who traveled from Florida) of 25 years stand by my side and my cousin Tanner stand by Kyle's. We had initially planned to get married in the apple orchard, but fate would have it that it rained the entire day of our wedding and we made a last-minute decision to move the ceremony inside. Looking back on it, I truly believe that was the greatest blessing as it provided us with the quiet and intimate ceremony setting we had always dreamt of.
Kate with Huckleberry Wedding & Event Planning provided us with the utmost care and precision for every last detail of our day. From coordinating with all vendors, to flipping our ceremony space last minute, she treated each step of the process as if it were her own event. She and her team are extremely organized and coordinating with her in the days leading up to the wedding day eased all of my nerves. We were able to relax and focus on our friends and family who traveled from near and far to celebrate with us. All of our vendors went above and beyond to adhere to Kate and I's vision and see it through to fruition. We are still mourning that our big day is over and still have friends and family telling us it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended. Mission accomplished!" – Jayden, the bride
