A smokey day in Glacier National Park in September made for the dreamiest, most peaceful elopement for Erin and Matthew. Photography by Caroline Stremic Photography.
"Matthew and I met at a family and friend's bowling night. We could not stop picking on each other and the next day Matthew asked my sister for my phone number. He proposed by placing the ring inside of my Christmas stocking. I thought that it was empty on Christmas morning until he asked my 4-year-old daughter to bring my stocking over to me after all of the other gifts were opened. It was the best surprise ever!
We had such a peaceful experience! There was no big rush or panic. A few of our closest friends met us in Whitefish for our wedding. It was the perfect day. We both showered and gathered our things to get ready and then Matt left our AirBNB with my best friend’s husband so that the girls and guys could get dressed separately. I had the best hair and makeup team who made me look great. Then, my photographer, Caroline Stremic, arrived to begin taking photos and get us to our ceremony. She made the whole day so comfortable and mellow so that we could soak in every single moment. I could not have imagined doing it any differently. Glacier National Park was very smokey on the day of our wedding which made our photos even more beautiful and dreamy. There is not one thing I would change about our day.
We followed our wedding with a two week road trip to different national parks in the western half of the US. We got to spend our first two weeks as husband and wife adventuring through places neither of us had ever been and it was magic." –Erin, the bride
