The Homestead on McVey in Victor, Montana, is nestled in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley, with views of the Bitterroot Mountains and surrounded by open landscapes—perfect for a rustic, outdoor celebration. Don't miss Sydney and Mike's perfect western day. Photography by Alicia Magnus Photography.
"We met through mutual friends at a rodeo and hit it off right off the bat. That same night he introduced me to his boss at work and I now know he told his boss I would be his future wife. We dated pretty much instantly and did as much traveling and exploring as we could. After two years of dating, we took a trip to Glacier National Park and camped in his rooftop tent on his truck. The first day we were there we did an 11 mile hike along a river where Mike was pretty quiet the whole time. At the half way point it started pouring rain so we found shelter at a little hiker's cabin and had a snack and wait out the rain. After our very long and hot last half of the hike we made it back to the truck and started to drive out of the park back to the campground. We were coming up to the famous Glacier National Park sign when Mike asked me if I wanted to take a picture. I was super exhausted almost told him no, but I knew it was a once in a lifetime opportunity so I said sure. We pulled the truck up in front of the sign and I propped my phone up on the hood to take a quick photo on a timer when all of a sudden as the phone takes a picture Mike was down on one knee, and I was completely in shock! I had no idea he even had a ring or asked my parent's for their blessing, but it made sense why he was so quiet all day! It was the most perfect day."
WEDDING DAY
"Our wedding day was so fun and perfect! The day started out rainy and windy and I was nervous that would affect our outdoor ceremony. All morning seemed to drag by. I just wanted to see Mike and let the party start! After hair and makeup and I got in my dress I was so excited and couldn’t wait for it to be time to start walking. At the last minute, I made the decision to not wear my veil because the wind was still blowing but thankfully the rain stopped. Our ceremony was very quaint and relaxed and was everything I imagined it to be. Our first look was as I walked down the aisle, and we couldn’t contain our excitement and we did a little happy dance.
We chose to have pizza at our wedding and it was the best decision ever. It sounded so good and was super easy for people to grab their food buffet style and sit at the little picnic style tables. For dessert, I chose to do cinnamon rolls, and again, best decision ever! I’m not a big cake person and everyone tells me they never even eat their cake so I chose my favorite pastry! We two-stepped for our first dance which is very on par for us, and we included a final dance at the end of the night with only the two of us left in the room. We got some very cute photos that I will cherish forever." –Sydney, the bride
